Environs
Campion Cottage lies within a landscape of small fields that are over two thousand years old. The Cornish hedges (stone banks with an earth core) overflow with wild flowers in spring and early summer.

Our own organic meadows and garden are home to more than 200 species of native plants and are a haven for grassland butterflies and other small beasts that cannot survive in silage fields. Over 100 species of birds have been seen here since 1984.

West Penwith is an ‘island’ of many contrasts and great diversity bounded by ocean and five miles of low valley between Hayle and Marazion. A high spine of moorland divides the northern coastal plateau with its rugged cliffs from the gentle, fertile southern slopes and picturesque Mount’s Bay.

A wonderful artistic heritage is celebrated in many small galleries everywhere and several larger ones like the Tate in St. Ives.

Much of this richness is within a 7 mile radius of Boswednack, accessible via an extensive network of footpaths and quiet lanes.

The coast path is magnificent and you can include it in circular walks from here or use the bus for a longer stroll - (bus will stop at our gate). Various bus-passes are available- see Cornwall Bus website for details, routes and timetables..

The GALLERY above shows our immediate environs and also a few places such as the lively towns of St. Ives and Penzance that are a little further afield.
